Model A Club’s Generosity: A Tour to Remember

One of the coolest activities on the US-Canada tour was a meet-up with a local Model A Club from Calgary.

On day 14, our Model A’s drove from Jasper to Lake Louise where there was a special treat waiting for us. The Calgary Stampede Model A Club arranged for a gathering at a parking lot near our hotel. Our Model A’s, along with those from Calgary were staged for a photo shoot. To make it even more memorable, they arranged for a fully uniformed member of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police to pose in the photos.

The group enjoyed meeting each other and swapping stories. We talked about the trip, the beautiful area, and our cherished antique Fords.

Here is a complication of our entrance into Lake Louise and some images captured from the photo shoot.

Calgary Stampede Model A Club Saves the Day

Terri’s Model A, the Radio Flyer had a problem or two on this trip and got some unfortunate rides on the rescue trailer during the tour. It was decided that the problems with the Radio Flyer were not possible to fix while away from home. Terri had arranged for a rental car and trailer as a way to get home. Note that Terri had driven her Model A from Southern California all the way to Washington before the tour began.

After seeing the Radio Flyer on the rescue trailer, members of the Calgary Stampede Model A club suggested that it be fixed in Calgary to allow Terri to finish the tour. A team was put together to fix the Radio Flyer. The heroic and generous efforts from the team from Calgary saved the day. Their extraordinary talents were put to work and their mission was accomplished.
