May 10: Before we left the area, we visited a ranch outside of Ciudad Rodrigo, where we were offered a cowboy/horsemanship/matador exhibition. Here are the cows and bulls coming into the arena:

The horses were beautiful, the riders very skilled, and the matador with the young bull interesting.

Afterwards, we lined up the cars and the horses for group photos:

When we left to drive to Salamanca, Spain, we decided to have another picnic. And check out how well the poppies and roses grow here in Spain!

Tonight’s hotel in Salamanca was our second Parador. We could easily adapt to this type of elegant housing! Here’s a view of the historic city center.
