Final Day – Wall to Spearfish and farewell

Today we had a short last day of driving. Our final destination was back to the Holiday Inn Express in Spearfish. But before that, we had one more world class South Dakota marvel to enjoy: The Badlands National Park. It’s striking geologic deposits contain one of the world’s richest fossil beds, buttes and pinnacles, along with the largest undisturbed mixed grass prairie in the US. It’s different than any other National Park that you will visit.

The best way to enjoy the Badlands is to see it yourself.  There is no way for pictures to do it justice. Alternatively, check out this video that contains a series of pics and vids cheaply shot with an iPhone 8.  It ain’t perfect, but it does contain plenty shots of our cool Model A’s.

After driving the Badlands loop, we passed the town of Sturgis and stopped to enjoy the place where the annual Motorcycle Rally is held.  Since Sturgis is a biker town, there is a Motorcycle Museum that includes past, present, and future motorcycle memorabilia. Then, on to Spearfish to relax and reminisce.

A quick stop at Sturgis to visit the motorcycle museum and to get a bite to eat.

The next day we gathered for a farewell breakfast where we thanked the wonderful organizers for a job well done and said our sad goodbyes.

  2. This was another one of the greatest Tours. You will never be able to identify the best as they are all the best. Thanks to all the great friends made in past and ones to be made in the future. They are the best. Just keep on keeping on with these.
