A TOUR OF A LIFETIME! This 2017 tour is the first MATC trip overseas since the club went to New Zealand, approximately 4 years ago. The tour includes up to 150-200 km driving per day, some nature, some wine tasting, nice towns, some car museums, some sightseeing. The following is a brief synopsis of the itinerary, and details are in the Winter 2016 issue of the Winter 2016 issue of the Milepost.

We’ll ship our cars (3 per sea container) in advance and fly in to Lisbon to tour from May 3, to May 23, 2017. Upon picking up our cars at the port we’ll drive up the coast to Porto then turn inland for views of the countryside. Next, we drive to the Bilbao area then along the base of the Pyrenees to Barcelona. We ship the cars home from there. There are a few open slots in this “limited participation” tour available, but register right away. New European rules require us to provide specifics about our cars by this Sept. 1st.

Cost is $15,000 for one car and two people for 21 days, not including airfare. This cost estimate includes a trouble trailer, a luggage van, 11 group meals including a farewell dinner, local transfers, limited European collision insurance, and all maps and tourist cards needed. Unused funds will be returned to tour participants after our final accounting.

With a MATC multilingual guide as well as local English-speaking guides in the major cities/tourist areas, we’ll experience traditional music, food, beverages, arts and crafts, architecture and historic sites. Come enjoy the Iberian Peninsula!
